No matter the type of game they are playing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I find this sentiment to be very confusing. These people sometimes are so zealous about it. I suppose I should expect that from computer games by now, though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The controller is my input of choice for almost any computer game. There are always going to be exceptions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I thought the Steam Controller could be the thing that makes playing these kinds of games better with a controller. I did not like the Steam Controller at all. This controller may work for some people, though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I don\u2019t use a controller to play most first-person shooter (FPS) games. Aiming is too hard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I also don\u2019t use a controller for most strategy or real-time strategy (RTS) games. I need more inputs than buttons. I can scroll and click on things with the mouse faster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I also have issues using controllers to play massive online games (MMO)s. Once again, I often need more inputs than controller buttons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Modern MMOs are much more controller friendly, though. Some MMO games now have console and PC releases. But I don&#8217;t play these games enough anymore to know what games are good with controllers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some rogue-lite and rogue-like games work best with a keyboard or don\u2019t feel better with a controller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"I_Started_Gaming_With_Consoles\"><\/span>I Started Gaming With Consoles<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When I first started to play video games, I only played consoles. Super Nintendo (SNES) is the first video game console I remember playing. I did not know computers had video games for the longest time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the first computer games I remember playing was the first Diablo game. But before then, I had owned almost every Nintendo Console up until the Nintendo Gamecube. I never bought a Wii.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since I spent so many years playing console games, I still mostly play games with a controller. I may be a mobile phone\/PC gamer now. But I can\u2019t escape the video game console entirely, it seems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"I_Avoid_Playing_Games_That_Dont_Have_Controller_Support\"><\/span>I Avoid Playing Games That Don\u2019t Have Controller Support<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are some games I won&#8217;t turn down if I have to play with a keyboard and mouse. But outside of these exceptions, I only buy games if they have good controller support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is very easy to figure out if a game has good controller support on a video game storefront like Steam. Some developers let players know if controllers are the best input option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the developers don&#8217;t tell me, other players will.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Often I buy and play games that have console ports. Knowing a game has a console port is a way to know it will have good controller support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"You_Have_More_Input_Options_With_Controllers\"><\/span>You Have More Input Options With Controllers<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Why should I only play games with a keyboard and mouse when I can have so many different inputs? There are many controllers you can use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have tested and used many console controllers over the years. I like being able to choose what input option feels best for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Logitech wired and wireless controllers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PlayStation 4 controller<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Xbox 360 controller<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Xbox One controller<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I am currently using a Logitech F310. I bought a Logitech controller because it is cheaper and works well with Xbox button prompts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most Steam games show Xbox button prompts.
