Riddle Tower Review Information

Why Did I Review This Game?

The developer of the game asked me to review it. I did say I do this on the website. So, I decided to look at this game. Puzzle games are also interesting.

How Long Have I Been Playing Riddle Tower?

I beat 12 main story levels. I also looked at a few of the Riddle Road levels.

I only spent about a day playing the game. But I am pretty sure seeing new puzzles won’t change my thoughts much.

How Did I Review the Game?

I received a Steam key from the developer. I downloaded and played the game for a day.

Gameplay Review

How Does This Game Work?

Riddle Tower is a game about solving riddles. Who knew?

Each puzzle requires you to find a solution and write it as the answer. You write in letters or numbers. The puzzle can be vague, but each one has a single solution.

The message after beating level one. The message states that riddles need thinking and logic to solve.

The Puzzles Are Quite Interesting

The game deceptively makes you think it will be easy with the first few puzzles. That feeling did not last long.

I soon used multiple tools and programs to solve these puzzles.

  • Notepad
  • Microsoft OneNote
  • Calculator
  • Screenshots
  • GIMP (image editor)

Some of my puzzle solutions were brute-force. But that’s my default strategy.

I was not expecting to know how to solve math correctly, but this game sure made me do it. I liked some puzzles more than others. But overall, they seemed nice.

Level 5 is a math puzzle and looking pictures.

Some puzzles are vague. But it is hard to say whether that is because I am stupid. The last puzzle I solved made more sense after I looked at it the next day. So maybe I need to review problem-solving or something?

Either way, I liked the concept of the game. I am interested in seeing what puzzles are in later levels.

Hints Can Be Hit or Miss

Some of the hints are not as helpful as the others.

Trying to balance giving hints that help instead of just telling you the answer is complicated. However, some of the hints did not help me much. I immediately looked at both hints when I got to level ten to see what they showed (also because I needed to).

The Game Has Many Levels

There are many puzzles. Since I only looked at about 15 or so, I can’t say if they are all good. But at least you have plenty to solve if you are having fun.

The extra Riddle Road levels have text, math, and rebus levels.

Presentation Review

How the Game Looks

The game looks good enough. Nothing mind-blowing here. But you know that is fine. I have no complaints. The interface reminds me of something I see in an Android game.

How the Game Sounds

The game has OK music. I only heard music on the menus. It was OK enough. There is nothing I want to remember afterward. But that is OK.

The sounds in the levels are good enough. I have become used to the sound that plays when I get answers wrong.

My Thoughts on the Value of the Game

The game costs $5 ( USD). There is no DLC or other content to buy.

You get plenty of value from the game. I was given the game for free. But I don’t see an issue with spending $5 on a game like this.

It is unlikely I would have bought this game. But that’s because it is hard to find and even see a smaller game like this on Steam unless it was recommended to me.

There are similar mobile games that are free, and ads support them. Some are even on PC for free. It’s up to you to decide if $5 is worth the price.

My Overall Thoughts on Riddle Tower

Riddle Tower is a cute puzzle game that makes you think and sometimes makes you take notes and do math. I thought it was fun. It depends on how much you enjoy problem-solving.

Do I Recommend People Play Riddle Tower?

If you like solving puzzles and doing some math, then sure. Just keep in mind that some puzzles are more challenging than others.

Will I Keep Playing Riddle Tower?

I will play the game a little longer to see if I can solve more puzzles. I need to prove I am not quite as stupid as I think.
